What the calculator reports

Proposed Lahiri method

rashi-lahiri-v1 calculates lunar longitude, applies the declared Lahiri ayanamsa, normalizes the sidereal value to 0–360 degrees, and classifies floor(longitude / 30) without rounding beforehand.

Each sign interval is semi-open. A position exactly on a tested boundary belongs to the interval beginning there. The result and calculation envelope expose the effective instant, computed Lahiri value, and allowlisted provider, version, flags, and time-zone database version rather than relying on hidden frontend defaults.

What happens when time is unknown

The precision field and warning reflect proximity of the entered instant to a 30-degree boundary; they do not prove stability across an unsubmitted time-uncertainty interval.

Method and limitations

Interpretation boundaries

Rashi is used as a symbolic concept in Jyotish. A calculated Moon Sign does not scientifically determine emotions, gender, mental health, compatibility, fertility, profession, wealth, marriage, or future events.

The result does not make a stereotype sound personal or certain. It cannot identify another person, reveal a soulmate, or justify a major decision.

Limitations

Different ayanamsas, lunar frames, data versions, time inputs, and boundary conventions can change a result near 30-degree edges. Tropical Moon Sign is not interchangeable with Lahiri Rashi. Settings must be visible whenever outputs are compared.

Privacy in the calculator

No. Rashi divides the zodiac into twelve 30-degree signs; Nakshatra divides it into twenty-seven smaller sectors.
