Printable worksheet v1.0
Relationship evidence ladder
A four-rung worksheet for separating what happened, what you inferred, what was said and what was mutually agreed.
Published method · 2026-07-21
Use this ladder when a sign, tarot reading or intense feeling seems to answer a relationship question. Begin at the bottom and move up only when a new kind of information is available.
The goal is not to dismiss intuition. It is to keep an interpretation revisable and prevent it from impersonating another person's words or a shared agreement.
Rung 1 — observation
Write one event without motive words. Include what happened, when and what you directly perceived. Replace ‘they avoided me’ with ‘they did not reply for four days’.
- What could a neutral observer record?
- What context is missing?
- What did not happen?
Rungs 2 and 3 — inference and communication
List your first interpretation and two alternatives. Then record only what each person directly communicated. Silence, a like or a symbolic sign is not a quoted answer.
Rung 4 — agreement and next review
Write the specific mutual agreement, how each person can change it and the date or condition for review. If there is no agreement, remain on the earlier rung and choose a respectful question or boundary.
